Creating Tubeless Mountain Bikes
Rims!
The Merits of OUTEX-MTB Tubeless
Better handling by
reducing burden below the spring
Improved feeling of
being in direct contact with the ground
Spokes and nipples
are exchangeable
Uses the same American-style
valve as clear tubeless kits
Elastic sealing tape
makes air injection easy after assembling the tire
Liquid sealant
blocks air leaks from the bead and prevents punctures
Cross Section of a Conventional Tubeless
System These specifications present no particular
problems when riding on common roads, but during downhill runs, etc. in which
air pressure is lowered, air sometimes leaks from the bead due to the effects
of G-forces applied to side of the tire. |
Cross Section of an OUTEX Tubeless System Attaching 2mm-thick sealing tape over a wide
area, including up the bead, strengthens the seal between the tire and the
rim. |

Prior to Using the OUTEX-MTB Tubeless Kit Currently, I am using the existing NOTUBES
Tubeless Kit with 27.5 inch wheels, but I have been having trouble with it as
itfs hard to seat the bead properly and the tires lose air overnight, and so
on. Also, as mentioned in the blog, commercial products only apply tape in
the center, so the sealant rubber only sticks to the uneven spots on the tire
and rim. This creates a weak seal, which makes me nervous that the air
pressure might drop overnight or that the bead might become unseated. I deal
with this using plastic tape, but that only works on the day that I apply it.
Also, I want to use wide MAVIC rims, but they are not made to be used
tubeless, so I forced a seal by injecting twice the amount of sealant,
butcAir often leaked out when the bead was pushed in due to G-forces applied
from the side while riding. So, I tearfully ride using a narrow rim that is
made to be used tubeless. After Using the OUTEX-MTB Tubeless Kit Just to give you a race report, I entered
the Elite Class, which is the highest class, and in the preliminaries, I had
some mechanical troubles, so I barely qualified in 30th place (out of 55
riders). Due to the mechanical troubles in the preliminaries, I wasnft able
to do my best in the finals. I made lots of mistakes, crossed over the line
several times and ended in 25th place. I used OUTEX Tubeless for three days. I put
in 50cc of liquid sealant. I was left with a good impression as the bead
seated right away as soon as I attached the tires, and there was no air
leakage. I changed the tires three times during the three days with no
problems whatsoever. I had no problems during the preliminaries or the finals,
and the course was hard on the breaks, but I didnft lose any air pressure at
all, which means that the air didnft leak. I hit several rocks, and my rim
was sorely bent in two places, but even so, the air didnft leak, and I was
able to finish the race. When I removed the tire, I saw that the soft tape
had slightly changed shape, but the bead seated again as soon as I changed
the tire. As one of the usage conditions for the tires, I used them at 1.5
kilograms of pressure. The tire never came unseated. Even this was no problem. This is a big enough dent that current
mountain bike goods would leak air. And so far, that is actually what has
happened. However, this product is highly trust-worthy, even when using it
for races! I had a race yesterday, and I noticed when I washed it just now
that the air hasnft leaked out. Handling Tires are lighter without a tube than with,
so itfs easier to pedal, and when breaking, the breaks work well due to the
lightness of the wheel itself. In addition, it doesnft interfere with the
tirefs flexibility, and being able to make use of the tirefs flexibility
provides a smooth ride when cornering. It is also good that rim hits do not
cause punctures, as there is no tube (when using liquid sealant)! http://wakitasoft.com/Timing/Results/2017/20170505/EachResult01.pdf |
